Let me tell you my story. Nine years ago God gave me a vision of a Christian Café
book store, including the name Hallelujah (praise ye the Lord) House (make it like
home) Well, that seemed to be all it was for several years. You see anyone that
knows me already new about Hallelujah House, because my vision became a
passionate dream. My husband, Michael and I would talk about it for hours. Well
later that same year we had the privilege of traveling with a company that Michael
worked for up and down the East Coast. We went to every Christian Book store
we could find in our travels. But something was always missing. It was a place to
sit, have a cup of coffee and relax with the book you just purchased or sit and
listen to the music. A gathering place that it does not matter what church you
attended or denomination you are, you felt welcome and could fellowship with
other believers and seekers. What I did not know was God was preparing me for
this very business, working behind the scenes as he always is. He placed me with
a company where I was in marketing, then Human Resources and lastly in
finances. I enjoyed each position for a very short time, and then I would get
restless. (God wanting me to move on) but I stayed too long until he closed the
doors with a word or action. Proverbs 19:20 “Many are the plans in a man’s
heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” God first gave me this scripture
in West Palm Beach, Florida in March of 2003, and he’s continued to give it to
me, until recently when I realized my only job is to “seek him”. You see when we
seek him and only him, all the desires of the flesh are gone. Things that mattered
to you, no longer matter. If you lose people in the process, then they were
intended to be in your life for that amount of time, but always with a lesson to be
learned and a relationship to be treasured.
We as a family have gone through some really dark times since 2006. Valley’s that
were so deep we could not get to the precepts if we tried. Eventually, things got a
little better, but were never good. During this time we went through the motions
going to church, attending all we could with our church family or grouping for me
( a once a week accountability, with much interceding with two amazing friends,
mentor’s and confidant’s. I like to call them my C3 friends…they are confidential,
constructive and compassionate, but, most importantly prayer warriors. We do
battle without fear, for anyone in need of prayer or healing. It’s powerful, and
during my families dark time we sure coveted their prayers, and God heard and
brought us through every time. Until January 2009 it was black and no light
seemed to be shining and it went on for 4 long months. We were numb, but when
you get to a place where there is just you and Jesus, guess what? It’s all you
need. It carried me though and I drew close, closer than ever before. Nothing
mattered except him. I surrendered everything in those months. My health, my
son, my marriage, my Mom, our finances and started to seek him in the wee
hours of the morning…prostrate before my Lord. I cried out in languages I have
yet to understand, but he knew exactly what the communion was. You see when
we seek him and only him…..he gives us the desires of our hearts. We will have
trials and tribulations, but we can trust him completely. He will never leave us or
forsake us. Roman’s 8:28 became my verse during the first four months of this
year, as I claimed on December 4, 2002.”And we know that in all things God
works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his
purpose”. Romans 8:28. I said this verse over and over again until I believed it. I
like to call it TPing. God says, try my Word and I will prove to you. Well, my
bible has TP written all through it. He has proved faithful in all things. It is I that
has not always been faithful.
My husband and I were on vacation the first week of June and went to Living
stones to buy a couple of gift items. The store was being sold, and when we got
in the car my husband said," you should buy it." Well, I had one week to make a
decision and it just didn’t happen. But the ember that was burning for Hallelujah
House was blown on and I worked to find the right location. I looked at 24
locations, in Potsdam 22 locations, Norfolk 2 and first look in Massena I knew
that this was where God wanted me. I did not understand it, but again surrender
my will and have walked in obedience. I believe single handily God has seen this to
fruition.
This is for his glory, honor and praise. I will daily remove my will and seek him in
all areas. My prayer is that everyone that takes the time to read this will feel God’
s presence and peace. If you do not know Jesus, please start seeking him. John 3:
16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that
whosoever believes in him shall have eternal life.” No matter where you are in life,
a believer, a seeker maybe, God is waiting, his arms are open he wants to show
you a love like you have never experienced before. If you have an area in your life
that is never satisfied, my prayer is that you will let Jesus fill it. Buy a Bible start
reading in John and then go to Matthew 5, 6 and 7. Search for a Bible Preaching,
Family Oriented, Mission Minded Church. (If you are looking please refer to the
Pastor's page and see what local churches are available.)Then come into Hallelujah
House and let us know what God is doing in your life.
